Teen Dating Violence Prevention Through “Safe Dates” and Other Awareness Programs for Youth and Adults
SHARE, Inc. has been involved in teen dating violence prevention for over twenty years. We provide age-appropriate presentations to students in middle schools and high schools and we offer community education presentations about teen dating violence to agencies and service organizations.
One of the programs we provide is the Safe Dates curriculum. Safe Dates is designed to help teens recognize the difference between caring, supportive relationships and controlling, manipulative, or abusive dating relationships. The goal of presenting Safe Dates is to change adolescent dating violence norms, and improve conflict resolution skills for dating relationships. It provides resources for victims and perpetrators seeking help and improves peer intervention skills.
We will tailor our presentations to fit the needs of the school, for example, we can offer an entire curriculum over a period of time, or we can present information to the student body during an assembly.
