Our Support Groups

  • Our support groups are curriculum-based and provide a safe space to discuss the cycle of abuse, power and control dynamics in abusive relationships and a variety of other relevant topics.
  • Our Emergency Shelter clients have the opportunity to participate in weekly groups held in a calm and relaxing setting.
  • For Spanish-speaking clients, our Bilingual Program offers a weekly virtual group. This group includes our core curriculum as well as other topics important for supporting this under-served population.
  • For all adult support groups we offer corresponding kids’ groups including many different types of education as well as play groups.
  • Advocacy

Advocacy is a process of self-discovery and planning for change; adults and youths work with trained advocates individually and in group settings to share their experiences, learn from one another, and create safety plans. Advocates listen, empower and support clients in identifying options, navigating community resources and preparing for next steps.

    Bilingual Services

Individual advocacy, support, education and referrals are provided to the Spanish-speaking community. Spanish support groups are available each week, which are currently operating virtually. Our bilingual advocates can provide one-on-one support to Spanish-speaking victims as well.

    Outreach Program

S.H.A.R.E., Inc. Outreach Program exists to increase safety and healing and decrease the isolation of victims of intimate partner violence and their children. Outreach services closely resemble emergency shelter services and include:
  • Short-term, goal-directed advocacy
  • Support for your immediate situation
  • Safety Planning
  • Connections to resources for planned, short-term interventions
  • Referrals to ongoing therapeutic care or counseling when appropriate
  • Domestic Violence Education
  • Support groups for victims and children who have been exposed to domestic violence
